Laelia anceps x Laelia acuminata
We have a laelia orchid on special for this newsletter. Laelia
is a cattleya alliance plant. It is the L in Lc and the L in
Blc and Slc. In other words it is a cousin to cattleya, brassavola,
sophonitis, etc. Cattleyas and cattleya alliance plants all
enjoy
four to six hours of direct sun a day. If you are growing under
lights, ten to twelve hours is suggested. Temperature range
is wide, 50F - 60F night temperature and 70F - 90F for day temperature
as long as there is good air ventilation.
Laelia anceps x Laelia acuminata is a rapid growing plant that
will display lovely lavender blossoms on long graceful spikes.
Flowers will last about six to eight weeks. Our plants are growing
in our 5" x 5" hydro kit and are in spike now. Regular
